On the 14th June we officially opened the doors of mydentist Stonebow, a modern, state-of-the-art practice. After a project lasting just over six months, all the dentists and staff from our previous York site and have relocated to the new site at Stonebow House, where we’re happy to announce that patient appointments are now underway.  

We wanted to offer you the opportunity to get to know some of the incredible people behind the scenes at mydentist Stonebow, while also giving you a sneak peek into the facilities at our newest practice.

Ensuring a practice like mydentist Stonebow can provide dental care to more than 20,000 members of the local community requires a lot of time and effort. And our team, led by Practice Manager Charlotte Hyde, works tirelessly to ensure our patients can access these essential treatments and services.

Charlotte Hyde – Practice Manager 

(14 Years’ Service)  

“I love being part of the team here at mydentist York, I travel an hour and a half to work each way to work and I do it because I love the practice and the team. I have worked my way up from a part time receptionist to the practice manager of one of the new flagship mydentist sites. The connection I have gained with patients is something amazing, from saying hello to them day to day to sending each other Christmas cards! I really wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.” 

Charlotte Lawson – Treatment Coordinator

“I started my journey at mydentist as a receptionist on the first day of national lockdown in COVID, it was a scary time coming into a new role especially during the pandemic. It was a real eye-opening time and really made me feel part of the team as we were all learning the new norm at the same time. In the September, the TCO position became available and with me having a background in events coordination and management I put myself forward. I got the job and have since been given more opportunities than I have ever had in previous jobs. Every day I learn something new, and the amazing new practice makes coming into work the best feeling.”

“I joined mydentist York in 2019 and was instantly welcomed by all the staff and felt like I had known them for years. We all get on and love what we do, with a professional and supportive approach to our jobs and some good laughs out of work. We have a great assortment of patients who we look after and get to know well, so it is nice to always have a catch up. We have almost 20,000 patients and our two most senior nurses know 90% of them! I love being the lead nurse and passing on my advice, skills, and little tips to my mentees (who call me their work mum) Since moving to a bigger more modern practice, the whole team morale has increased immensely, and we look forward to the prosperous future.”

It’s our hope these accommodations ease access for patients who may have struggled to access appointments at our previous practice location. 

For those looking to join mydentist Stonebow as an NHS dental patient, the newly relocated and expanded dental practice is partaking in the NHS dental recovery plan and will be taking on a limited number of new NHS patients per month to meet the demand for dental care in the area.
