Basim qualified in dentistry from Manchester Dental School in 2013 and following two years of post graduate training he completed his medical degree at the University of Leeds. Following post graduate medical training undertook surgical training in ENT and Plastic Surgery prior to embarking on higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Alongside this he has undertaken postgraduate qualifications in health research. Basim has performed minor oral surgery across a number of practices and also provides intravenous sedation for patients who maybe be particularly anxious about undergoing oral surgery. He has a keen research interest publishing across a number of surgical journals and is actively engaged in organising trials alongside chairing the Maxillofacial National Research Collaborative.
