Dr Helga Martin qualified at Sheffield University in June 1995. She started working at Mapperley in August 1996. Since then, she has enjoyed all aspects of dentistry in general practice, finding it very fulfilling helping nervous patients to receive treatment. Helga went to Australia in 2006 for a year working in a small town in far North Queensland, providing a wide range of private dental treatments. She returned to our Mapperley practice in 2007. Over the next couple of year’s she became interested in teaching dentists, gaining a post graduate qualification with South Yorkshire’s Deanery in 2010 as an Educational Supervisor, and then continuing the role with Health Education East Midlands in 2014. She studied Clinical Education at Sheffield University in 2012, gaining a Distinction. In 2015, she took part in a six-month part time oral surgery course for General Dentists at Sheffield University. Over the years, Helga has continued to pursue a wide range of courses to develop and enhance her clinical skills and knowledge. She enjoys taking part in a peer review group. She is passionate about preventative dentistry.
