Praveen is a GDC (UK) registered Specialist Oral Surgeon with extensive hospital experience in the UK and abroad. He qualified in 1996, and completed his Masters degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999 in India. Praveen moved to the UK in 2005 where he further achieved his MFDS from Royal College of Surgeons, London in 2009. Praveen worked in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery departments in various UK hospitals including Peterborough, Portsmouth and worked at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for 9 years. While working in hospital Praveen treated patients referred for complex specialised oral surgery procedures including surgical extractions, impacted wisdom teeth removal, treatment of cysts, soft tissue biopsies and apicectomies under local anaesthesia and IV sedation as well as treating patients under general anaesthesia for incision & drainage of dental abscesses and facial bone fractures. As a specialty doctor he taught and trained several junior doctors during their foundation training in hospital. Praveen joined {my}dentist in 2019 and enjoys working with the team and accepting oral surgery referrals. Praveen is known among his colleagues for his compassion towards patients and his friendly nature. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, listening to music.
