Chris qualified in Dentistry from Leeds University in 2003. Following vocational dental training in Yorkshire, he gained experience in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, General Dental practice, the community dental service and Paediatric Dentistry before taking a gap year to travel. He then taught at LDI before further experience in Paediatric Dentistry.He completed his Specialist Orthodontic training at Bristol Dental Hospital and the Royal United Hospital, Bath, gaining Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons and completing a Doctoral Degree. He undertook advanced Orthodontic training to Consultant level at York Hospital and LDI and was appointed as Consultant in Orthodontics at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, 2014. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Training Programme Director for Dental Core trainees at Pinderfields. He is a reviewer for several dental/orthodontic journals.Chris provides private Specialist Orthodontic treatment from Love Your Smile in Leeds, Yorkshire, using a range of aesthetic appliances including Invisalign and fixed braces.

Joanne Birdsall Orthodontist

Joanne qualified as a dentist in Leeds, she then undertook many posts in hospital dentistry including, paediatrics, restorative dentistry, oral surgery and orthodontics. Joanne undertook three years of specialist training whilst undertaking a Masters in Orthodontics at UCL.She qualified as a specialist orthodontist in 2010 with J K Williams gold medal for the top marks in the country. She went on to undertake 2 more years of training to become a hospital consultant specialising in management of complex orthodontic problems including jaw surgery, management of multiple missing teeth and complex medical needs. Joanne worked at Sheffield Dental Hospital and Rotherham Hospital treating complex cases and teaching students and dentists training to become orthodontists. She enjoys leadership roles at Royal College of Surgeons and within the NHS and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.Joanne works at Love Your Smile, Leeds, Yorkshire, offering teeth straightening treatments to children and adults, including Invisalign, ceramic and lingual/ invisible braces and can offer the most appropriate treatment for your problem, lifestyle, and income. Joanne strives for excellence and aims to provide patients with the best that can be achieved.Joanne enjoys cycling and running and can often be seen cycling with her two young daughters in a bike trailer.

Mick has worked with us for more than 13 years delivering teeth straightening treatments for Children and Adults. He has been an integral part of our team. He is currently finishing off his current treatment cases in Love Your Smile, Leeds, Yorkshire and is no longer accepting referrals himself.All of our new orthodontic patients will now be seen by one of our Consultant trained Specialist Orthodontists, Dr Chris Barker or Dr Joanne Birdsall.Some of the treatments that Mick has provided here include, Invisalign, Fixed metal braces and Clear fixed braces.Thanks Mick for the last 13 years plus!

Naveed Hussain Implantologist

Dr Naveed Hussain graduated from the University of Leeds in 2016 with a Bachelors in Dental Surgery. He then went on to study a Masters degree gaining a Merit in his Masters and a Distinction in his research. He presented his Masters research at the National Conference of the British Prosthodontic Society. He then completed his Foundation Training in the competitive London scheme. Following this, he completed a surgical residency in Brazil and a 2 years Masters programme in Dental Implantology, graduating with a Distinction. Dr Naveed has also had research published within the European Journal of Prosthodontic and Restorative Dentistry. He has completed advanced restorative and surgical training nationally and internationally allowing him to carry out sinus lifts, hard and soft tissue regeneration and full mouth implant-supported rehabilitation treatments. Currently, he works across several practices in Yorkshire as a Dental and Implant Surgeon offering patient-centric, complete and comprehensive care to ensure patient satisfaction, aesthetics and optimal function.In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, reading, socialising with family and friends and going to the gym.Dr Naveed welcomes all surgical and implant referrals.

Shaheer graduated from India in 2000 with special interest in Endodontology. In 2005, he gained Clinical Masters in Endodontics and has since been accepting endodontic referrals. To date, Shaheer has carried out more than 9,500 root canals treatments and undertaken numerous surgical endodontic cases, providing endodontic care utilising the operating microscope and microsurgical instruments. In 2007, Shaheer gained the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery and his dedication for endodontics has also led him to complete a MClinDent degree. He has worked in the Department of Restorative Dentistry in various dental hospitals in Scotland, gaining extensive experience in Restorative and Endodontic clinics, treating cases deemed too difficult for general practice. During this time, he developed his surgical endodontic skills and worked with other consultants in a multi-disciplinary team. Shaheer has publications in international journals and is a passionate teacher who has lectured around the world, conducting endodontic courses for young budding dentists and has recently qualified as “Dentsply Sirona Certified Trainer” from Bellaguis, Switzerland. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, British Dental Association, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, British Endodontic Society and European Society of Endodontology.

Shreena qualified as a dentist from Birmingham University in 2014, with honours and clinical distinction. She subsequently completed her training in general practice and at the Leeds Dental Institute in maxillofacial surgery. Shreena joined {my}dentist in 2016, where she has developed a good rapport with patients, which has helped her deliver personalised care to a high standard. She particularly aims to ensure that anxious or nervous patients are at ease and continue to receive good quality, regular dental care.Shreena is passionate about the prevention of oral disease and aims to educate patients on how to maintain a healthy mouth and beautiful smile. She regularly attends postgraduate courses and has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, including providing whitening treatments, clear aligners, cosmetic bonding, white fillings and crowns, with an individually tailored approach.Overall, Shreena aims to provide a high quality service in a patient centred, approachable and painless manner.In her spare time she enjoys travelling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures.

She has a range of skills working with patients within general practice, orthodontics and implants, to help improve their oral health and enable them to start their journey so that they can get the smiles they deserve. Jo is very patient and has a friendly approach to patients. She works here on Fridays, and is happy to see patients who aren't registered here.
