At mydentist Bridgend, every member of our team takes pride in the services we offer, what we do and how we do it. We believe that you will see this attitude embodied in our practice and staff. We are a 5 surgery, mixed NHS and private practice, offering treatments such as Invisalign, Dental Implants, Dentures, Fixed Braces, Clear Correct, at home Whitening, Hygiene, Root Canal Treatment, Bridges, Crowns and many more dental treatments. We also offer 3D scans. If you travel by public transport, we are a 9-minute walk from Bridgend Train Station and 8-minute walk from Bridgend Bus Station. We are located on Nolton Street by Asda. We have the latest technology at our practice, including CBCT scanner, enabling us to provide the best quality treatment to our patients.   • Dr.Asseel Abdulilah Ghazal Al-Najjim Qualified from: BDS Mosul 1995; MFDS RCPS Glasgow 2006; Statutory Exam 2008 Iraq, 1995 GDC No: 170128
    Asseel Al-Najjim graduated from BDS Mosul, Iraq in 1995. She worked as an oral surgeon in many countries before coming to the UK and has worked as a speciality doctor in several oral and maxillofacial surgery departments across South Wales and England. Asseel is especially interested in treating anxious patients (both adults and children) and putting their minds at ease before and during procedures. Asseel completed a Certificate in Implantology at Warwick University, 2014, and also gained a diploma in Restorative Dentistry and a MSc in Implantology. Asseel has an interest in sedation and incorporates this in her practise as part of her strategy to make dentistry a more pleasant and reassuring experience. Asseel can also provide other treatments, including facial aesthetics, composite bonding and Clear Correct teeth straightening, as well as offering counselling for patients who suffer from parafunction and myofascial pain dysfunction syndrome. Other treatments include dental implants, snoring devices, Enlighten Whitening, Valplast flexible dentures etc.
  • Dr.Ines Ruco Qualified from: BSC and MSC Portugal, 2010 GDC No: 197622
    Dr. Ines Ruco strives to provide patients with reliable orthodontic treatment. She can offer a variety of treatments such as: Invisalign, Six month smiles, Damon appliance and Conventional Braces. Ines is a comprehensive provider for Invisalign and is part of the British Orthodontic Society. In 2012, Ines completed a certificate in Practical Restorative Dentistry. She has also completed her Msc in Orthodontics with merit from Warwick Medical University in 2016. Ines enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, she loves travelling and is always up for a nice time out with friends. Ines loves photography and she has completed a one-year As level photography in Cardiff and Vale College. Ines likes to believe that anything is possible as long as you are focused, determined and you really want to do it.
  • Dr.Joao Rodrigues Qualified from: MSc Implantologist, MGDF RCs Eng 2015, LMD Portugal, 2010 GDC No: 192703
    Dr. Joao Pedro Rodrigues qualified in 2010 with a Master degree in Dental Medicine from Porto Dental University in Portugal. He joined {my}dentist at the beginning of 2023. Joao has worked a long period of time providing both NHS and private dental care. Joao has successfully passed the MJDF examination in 2015 and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has also completed his Msc in Implant Dentistry from Warwick Medical University in 2016. He has enhanced training in endodontics from the international university of Catalonia and has training in cosmetic teeth straightening. Joao currently is happy to provide dental implants, referrals for root canal treatments, short term cosmetic orthodontics such as Invisalign, inman aligner or cfast fixed braces. In his free time Joao enjoys his time with family and going to the gym.
  • Dr.Radu Gross Qualified from: Cluj-Napoca Romania, 2009 GDC No: 195810
    Dr. Radu Gross earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Iuliu Ha?ieganu Medical University in Romania in 2009. He joined {my}dentist in 2011 and has since gained extensive experience in both NHS and private dental care. In 2012, Radu expanded his expertise by obtaining a Certificate in Oral Implantology from Salford University. Committed to lifelong learning, he actively participates in international theoretical and hands-on courses, specializing in Implantology, Periodontology, and Oral Surgery. His dedication to periodontal health led him to complete a three-year postgraduate program, earning a master’s degree in Periodontology from the University of Central Lancashire in 2020. Additionally, he obtained a Master of Science Periodontology degree in Preston in 2020 and completed a Master of Science degree from Bologna in 2024 and is yet to set furthering his professional development at GIDE in 2025. With a strong passion for Implantology, Periodontology, and full-mouth reconstructions, Radu also has a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry. He has attended numerous courses in facial aesthetics and is eager to continue honing his skills in this field. Outside of dentistry, Radu enjoys staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle while cherishing time with family and friends.

What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth. Because dental implants are securely anchored in your jaw you’ll have the confidence to comfortably eat whatever you like.

  • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
